One day I went to the Musical Instrument Museum for a celebration of Hip Hop & they had iPads with a beat app and me and my friends had much fun. Yes, these apps make it very easy for you to create something digestible. I just ran beats from time to time on various apps over the years, created, explored and then, this newest app JAMBL, lets you do up to 16 bars of recording, and it was a game changer, now I’m creating an entire tune, and when I make a few, I’ve got an EP, if I make many, I have an LP and suddenly, I’m, maybe, a musician? In a way, I guess now I am. Perhaps it’s a passing fad, what I’ve latched onto to cope in my summer of 2022. Nevertheless I am obsessed, and listening to these mostly dumb, but sometimes, kind banging songs brings me ridiculous amounts of joy. Maybe a song or two will catch your fancy.
